Just like not having a Panda for a pet, Anet is covering their butts when it comes to words that may offend others. But yes, it should be an all or none deal.
I suppose I would have my characters removed or renamed if that were the case, since all of my characters are named after Roman, Greek, and Chinese gods. |

It's because you cannot avenge Jesus, but you can avenge Bhudda, he's not a deity right?
A.Net did NOT make City of Heroes. NCsoft is the publisher though Last edited by Yanman.be; Jun 23, 2006 at 10:10 PM // 22:10.. |

Put simply, the Constitution is a document by the people to restrict the powers of their government, and these restrictions are not relevant in the private sector, beyond guaranteeing a free democratic system in all states. Local and state statutes apply. You don't have freedom of speech, association, or the right to bear arms on someone else's property, that is called tresspassing, and the owner of said property is entirely within his rights to remove you. If you sign a non-dislosure agreement, you don't have the "right" to speak of the contents, or you can be sued. Anet owns their network, we are customers, and their rules are their business. Anyway, this thread is likely to get locked, I have no further comment. |

^He's right.
You're also forgetting that GW isn't a strictly USA-based game. If some, let's say.. Chinese or Korean or some place I don't really know the laws from, tell ANet to put in a timer that tells people how long they have been playing.. Then ANet has to put in that timer or face being kicked out of the country. If they don't like the fact that people can name their Warthog Jesus Christ, then they can tell ANet to disable that posibility. Millions of people were burning Danish flags on the streets because some guy made a cartoon in which you see Mohammed with a bomb in his turban. http://jesuschristowned.ytmnd.com/ It's only a few years ago that governements wolrldwide figured out that the Internet is a big and powerful thing. Powerful enough to be considered a threat. Powerful enough to be locked down, monitored and given rules. Look at all the Net Neutrality stuff that is going on lately. But this is slightly off topic... |
